Meet our Float Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are leaders in Wellington who embody our values at Float Well – Community, Curiosity & Evolution – and represent what floating is all about. As advocates, their role is to help spread the good word about floating within their own communities.

We are always searching for float enthusiasts, so if you are interested in joining our Ambassador Programme send us an email at info@floatwell.co.nz!

Deano Shirriffs

Deano is a Wellington-based alchemist abstract artist, inspired by landscapes. His unorthodox methods of applying or manipulating materials and paints on the canvas create scenes exploding with colour, texture and depth.

Deano is using the float tank to create ‘float-inspired’ artwork for the Float Well space.

Hine Funaki

Hine Funaki

As a Muay Thai figher, Hine’s body and mind are constantly tested. She works full-time for Victoria University, mentoring students and is waiting for her Masters thesis to be examined. Hine also has an 8-year-old son, so she’s busy juggling parenting, working, training, a social life and anything else that comes at her!

Nerves can creep in before a fight and using the float tank pre-fight helps Hine think about details, times and processes. By planning and being prepared for every detail, she feels confident and well-prepared – she feels ready.
