Meet our Float Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are leaders in Wellington who embody our values at Float Well – Community, Curiosity & Evolution – and represent what floating is all about. As advocates, their role is to help spread the good word about floating within their own communities.

We are always searching for float enthusiasts, so if you are interested in joining our Ambassador Programme send us an email at info@floatwell.co.nz!

Chris Desmond

Chris Desmond

Chris is the founder and host of Uncomfortable is OK, a podcast and platform which explores the science, stories and strategies of stepping outside our comfort zones. Chris has found from experience that the best way to really engage in life and start to find some magic is to challenge himself and step into the discomfort. He loves the ocean, going deep in conversation, moving his body. He struggles with trying to cram too much information into his poor brain, saying yes when he should be saying no, and stretching enough.

Hine also has an 8-year-old son, so she’s busy juggling parenting, working, training, a social life and anything else that comes at her!

Nerves can creep in before a fight and using the float tank pre-fight helps Hine think about details, times and processes. By planning and being prepared for every detail, she feels confident and well-prepared – she feels ready.

Yoga Rhapsody

Yoga Rhapsody

Jem and Paul are a Wellington based couple who have combined their passions to create Yoga Rhapsody - yoga classes accompanied by live acoustic guitar and vocals. The sessions are designed so that the music and movement work together, and the lyrics of the songs compliment the themes of the classes. This combination of movement, mindfulness and music is as powerful as it is healing, providing a unique experience.

Alongside their public classes and appearances at events/music festivals, Yoga Rhapsody operates as a social enterprise, taking music and yoga deep into the community, working with at-risk youth, people with intellectual disabilities, elderly citizens, community groups and in prisons. Their work truly lights them up, though it does require a lot of energy. Floating is a gift they give back to themselves as a way to recharge and look after their well-being.
