What if I’m claustrophobic?

This is the most common anxiety for first-time floaters, but there is nothing to fear. You are always in control of your environment (you can play music, keep the lights on and have the lid open if you want) and many people with this worry report having no problems with their time in the tank.

What can I do to prepare?

  • Don’t shave or wax at least 12 hours before your session
  • Arrive early (5-10 minutes)
  • Avoid caffeine and smoking prior to your float
  • Eat a light meal 1-2 hours ahead of time
  • Use the toilet before getting in
  • Have a lukewarm (not hot) shower pre-float

Do I need to bring anything?

No, we provide everything you need including towels, robes, ecostore shampoo, conditioner & body wash, Tailor skincare and hair dryers. You may want to bring along a hairbrush and your contact lens case, if applicable. If you require anything else, please bring it with you.

Is there any reason I can’t float?

To ensure health and safety standards, you cannot float if you:

  • Have epilepsy
  • Have a serious heart condition
  • Have open wounds
  • Have diarrhoea
  • Have recently dyed your hair or applied tanning products
  • Are currently menstruating
  • Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Can I float if I’m pregnant?

Absolutely – pregnant women love to float! It is safe to do so between 12 & 37 weeks. Floating can relieve a lot of the aches and pains caused by pregnancy. We do, however, recommend you consult with your midwife or GP if you have any concerns.

What if I’ve dyed my hair?

We ask that you wait at least 2 weeks after colouring your hair before you float. This will ensure that both our tank water and your hair colour are not damaged. Please make sure your colour stops bleeding out in your shower at home and does not come off on your towels before floating. You may not be able to float if you use henna to dye your hair.

Can I float if I’m menstruating?

No, we ask that you do not float when you’re on your period.

What do I wear in the tank?

Ideally nothing! Each room is fully private with a tank and shower, so there’s no need to bring your togs.

Do I have to stay in the whole time?

You may leave the float tank at any time during your session. There are no latches on the door, making exiting the tank quick and easy. We do, however, recommend that floaters stay for the duration of the float to experience its full effects. You’d be surprised how quickly time flies!

How long can I float for?

All of our sessions include a minimum 60 minutes in the float tank, as it can take your brain and central nervous system a bit of time to adjust to the environment and truly relax. Anything less than that doesn’t allow you to experience the full benefits. You can add 30 minutes to your float for an additional $20 or if you’re a member you can choose between a 60 or 90 minute float for free. Keen to float for even longer? Get in touch with us to find out how you can float for up to 3 hours!

How is the water cleaned between each float?

Between each float session, all the water inside the pod passes through a medical grade 10 micron filter 4-6 times and the Epsom salts in the water act as a natural disinfectant, inhibiting the growth of bacteria. In addition, we use a combination of UV and H2O2 to ensure the water is fully treated between each float. We also require you to shower before getting into the tank to maintain the highest sanitation standards.

Can I drown if I fall asleep?

Nope. You may fall asleep, but because of the buoyancy of the water you will stay afloat.

Can more than one person float in a tank at a time?

Sorry, only one person can float in a tank at a time. We do, however, have two tanks so you can book a session at the same time as your plus-one. We offer a special Float with a Friend deal if you book both float tanks at the same time.

What’s the difference between the rooms?

Both our float rooms are set up in the exactly same way. We have given them different names so that you know which room to go into at the time of your appointment.

Why am I asked to input my credit card details upon booking online?
