If you haven’t heard of Lucy Revill yet, we highly recommend you check out her blog, The Residents to find our the who, what and where of Wellington. She has interviewed so many inspiring people and showcases amazing small businesses that make up the fabric of the buzzy capital. We love having Lucy as one of our float ambassadors because she is constantly on the go and uses floating as a way to relax and unplug from her busy lifestyle.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
My name is Lucy Revill and I’m a Wellingtonian blogger. I love living in Wellington and so I decided to ask others about why they decided to live and work here too. It’s a snapshot into Wellington at a moment in time. That was 2 years ago and now my blog has won an Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Award, been a finalist at the New Zealand Social Media Awards and taken me as far away as Thailand. I also love working with cool brands around the core interviews I do with amazing and interesting Wellingtonians.
Why do you love floating?
Floating is such a great way to unplug from the world. As someone who considers social media part of their ‘job/side-hustle’, it is good to leave my phone outside of the tank and know that no one can contact me for the next hour.
Describe your best float experience and why it was so good.
My fifth float when I finally fell asleep. I felt sooo good and before that I’d been so jealous of my boyfriend who’d talked about falling asleep. I’ve never been more relaxed in my life.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of trying their first float?
Just dive in – it is a great experience. Don’t give up after the first try. It can take a few times to get into the spirit of it but once you do it is very rewarding.
What’s your favourite quote?
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” -Anaïs Nina
